Milford Sounds Fjordland New Zealand

It is so peaceful and quiet here. There is only one place you can stay overnight in the Sounds and that’s at the Milford Sounds Lodge. You need to book in advance since it’s a popular place to stay. You can Kayak with the seals and dolphins here, or you can try any of the walking tracks around the fjords, do a cruise on the Sound, or dive amongst the black coral and unique marine life.

This music video is done by La Blogotheque

La Blogotheque is founded by a French movie maker who wonted to share music in a different way. The short clips are somewhere in between a live performance and a music video. They are  filmed  with mostly one take on the recordings similar to the Dogma concept.

CHERRY AND MONG BEAN SALAD

Thursday, February 25th, 2010

Inspired by my Raw Food Diet I did a while ago, I made this Cherry salad. Has got some goat cheese which you could replace with goats curd, if you prefer 100% Raw.

  • 1/2 cup mong beans
  • 30g goat cheese
  • two handfuls of cherries, pitted and sliced
  • mixed leafs
  • 1 bunch spring onions
  • 2 tbs extra virgin olive oil
  • 1tbs cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp cloves
  • 1 bunch mint
  • 1 red chili
  • 2 rosemary springs

Blend sliced cherries with olive oil, rosemary springs, cinnamon and cloves. Set it aside while you chop mixed leafs, mint, chilli, and spring onions. Blend it all together with the mong beans and top with goat cheese before serving. Drizzle with extra virgin olive oil and add  salt and pepper after taste.

Yummy cake with orange and honey syrup on top!

IMG_9281

  • 1 cup, chopped dried dates
  • 1 tsp bicarbonate of soda
  • 3/4 cup of water
  • 60g butter
  • 2/3 cup caster sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/2 cups plain flour
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans
  • 2 drops vanilla essence
  • juice of 1 lime
  • zest from half an orange
  • 2tbs honey
  • 1 cinnamon coil

Preheat oven to 180 Celsius

Grease a bread tin with baking paper. Combine bi-carbonate of soda and the dates in boiling water and leave to cool. Cream butter and sugar until pale and add one beaten egg, the cooled dates, shifted flour, walnuts and vanilla essence. Shift carefully around before you pour mixture into prepared tin and bake for about an hour. Make sure you can dip a skewer in the middle and get it out dry before you take it out of the oven. Boil honey, zest from the orange, juice of one lime and 1 cinnamon coil for a few min before you brush the top of the cake with the syrup. Cool on a wire rack.

TATZU NISHI

Friday, February 19th, 2010

This guy will get up close to statues you’ve only seen from a distance before. Not only that, he gives them a completely new context. It’s weird and wonderful, especially to see them on top of a bed or coming up out of a table.

TATZU NISHI, TAZRO NISCINO OR TATSUROU BASHI?

He keeps changing his name as part of his projects. This strategy of shifting and occluding his own identity parallels the way he displace the familiar in his installations.

Unfortunately this exhibition is over now, but keep an eye out for this guy.
