Last week I stumbled across this cosy little cafe in Redfern. The cafe was warm and comfortable, and the smell of their freshly baked bread with newly roasted coffee lured me in to having my second breakfast for the day. Not even a slightly bit hungry!

BROKEN BELLS

This song has been playing over and over on my Ipod since i got this album last week. This album is a collaboration between James Mercer, from The Shins and Danger Mouse, Brian Burton. They met at a Danish music festival in 2004, and decided to start recording together. March 2010 they released their first album Broken Bells.

RICE PORRIDGE WITH POMEGRANATE

The time is here for hot porridge for breakfast. This version is fruity and fresh and will keep you warm in the morning.

serves 4

1 cup of rice porridge

juice of half a lemon

2 cups of water

1 cup of apple juice

seeds from 1 pomegranate

Combine rice porridge, juice of lemon and liquid. Bring to boil and simmer until thick, and the rice is soft. About 10 min. Top each serving with seeds from 1 pomegranate.
