Ingrids glassverksted Moloveien 15 – 6004 Ålesund    Telefon 474 16 371

A cute little charming place on one of the most characteristic streets in Ålesund, Moloveien. A small glass blowing workplace were you will find Ingrid shaping beautiful wineglasses, bowls and vases. If she isn’t there while you arrive she is probably just down the road, drinking coffe at Trankokeriet.

BLAFRE

Tuesday, January 11th, 2011

Blafre is a family company who started in 2005. With a few cards designed by Ingrid, inspired by childhood memories and the colourful 70′s their small company developed. After a while the cards got very popular and she started to design lunch boxes, thermoses, bedsheets and children clothes along with the cards. Ingrid is now doing all the design and together with her husband Remi they are running the company. Just before Christmas they opened a showroom/cafe in Ekeberg hageby. Sunday we went to say hi and to have a look at their charming place. We also got to try their delicious oat muffin and carrot cake. Lovely! It’s well worth the visit, but you can also order their retro inspired design at www.blafre.no. You can find Blafre design in Australia, Belgium, Denmark, UK, Finland, France, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Spain and Sweden.

MERRY CHRISTMAS

Thursday, December 23rd, 2010

Today I’m heading home to celebrate Christmas in Ålesund. I can’t wait to be home with family, eating our traditional Christmas dinner (who hasn’t changed once as far back as I can remember), wear my pyjamas until midday and eat lots of marzipan. I do hope you all will have a wonderful Christmas, either you are at the beach soaking up sun, in the mountains at the cabin or if you are somewhere as cold as Oslo now( 18 degrees below).

GIFT WRAPPING

Recycled gift wrap.

This year I will try to only wrap my gifts with recycled paper. It can look quite cute and they will all look different.

Look what came today! I’ve got a very nice mum making me a Christmas calendar. Now it actually looks and feels like Christmas at home. You never get too old for these things. Thanks Mum!

ADVENT

Stordalen

My friend Anette’s “selbu” mittens, knitted by herself

It is the first Sunday in Advent and a new time has started. We now try to make sure every day is a little bit special and more cosy than an ordinary day. We embrace the cold, dark winter time with candles, comfort food, hot drinks and warming desserts. We gather inside to play board games, cook and bake together. A fantastic time! A time you don’t celebrate or need as much as we do if you have 27 degrees and sun at the moment, but for us here in Oslo it’s a very important time .

BÅTHAVNA STORDALEN

Monday, November 22nd, 2010

There is this story about my sister and myself fishing with our Grandpa. It is often mentioned and it’s the time when we got so many big fishes we couldn’t bring them all back in again. I wish I had more time to spend in this peaceful place where time is standing still, and the weather is always sunny. According to our grandparents.

MY GRANDPARENT´S LOFT

Sunday, November 21st, 2010

Some things and objects you need to see your whole life before noticing them. Like the loft at my grandparent´s house where I now could spend hours looking at their old things. Today my grandpa showed me an old flour bag that he had. We are not sure how it ended up in Stordalen, but I´m sure there is a good story behind it.
